Janis, a child Cello prodigy, has struggled in her adult life with a split personality disorder and has willingly yielded to the control of her husband/therapist who, with the excuse of striving for her cure, has manipulated her all along through medication and psychological torture.  He keeps her virtually imprisoned at his home in an isolated island where she spends her life fighting a never-ending battle inside her multiple personalities.
